Youth

Sunday School and Bible Classes - Every Sunday morning at 10:15 AM, after a time of fellowship there are Sunday School classes for younger children and the youth join the adults as Pastor holds a Bible Study. On Wednesday evening at 7 PM adult and youth join again  for Bible Study with Pastor. Younger children are also invited to be present while the older family members study.

Vacation Bible School - In the summer we hold a week long evening VBS. On that Friday of the week, parents and everyone else are invited to a picnic and then a short program where the children share what they have learned. Youth and adults also have a class with pastor or they may help with teaching other classes.

Kid’s Activity Days - Every other month on a Saturday for about three hours we invite all children to a day of Bible learning, crafts and singing. Older youth also have an opportunity here to help with the program.

Church Activities - There are many opportunities in the daily life of the congregation to join in fellowship and serving. This includes acolyte service for the young men, altar guild for all confirmed youth, teen activities with Pastor, church clean up, the annual Ice Cream Social, New Year’s Eve Game Night, Easter Breakfast cooking and serving for boys, and Choir for older youth.

Synod and Youth - Youth from Good Shepherd attend the Honor’s Choir and Art Camp held each summer during the week of the convention at Bethany Lutheran College. The Synod’s youth also hold a summer week long camp in the midwest region and a national Youth Convention each summer. This year’s Convention is in the State of Washington.

Confirmation Classes - 7th and 8th graders join Pastor for a two year class that reviews Luther's Small Catechism. Students study of the main Bible teachings and stories as well as use of the Lutheran Hymnal.
