THE FALL
The story of humanity is not complete without the story of God. From the dust of the ground, God the Father formed man. From the breath of Himself, God breathed life into man. Man was the crown of God’s creation and was created in the image of God. But man fell into sin and away from God, asking, “Did God really say?” As a result, man was eternally separated from God, from perfection, and from eternal life.
JUSTIFICATION OF HUMANITY
Humankind’s inclination since the fall has been completely darkened spiritually. Our mind is hostile to God – it does not follow God’s law perfectly, nor is it able to do so (Rom 8:7). Death comes to all because all sin (Rom 5:12). But God’s Son, Jesus Christ, took upon our sin and died our death. (Rom 6:10-11) Our eternal death died once and for all! Because of Christ, we have the assurance of eternal life!
SANCTIFICATION OF HUMANITY
Because we are redeemed, does that mean we should continue in sin? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Through Baptism and the Word of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we were buried with Christ into death, just as Christ was raised from the dead, we rise to new life and should walk daily in our new life.
